Intelligent Designer

Ben Stein has a new documentary opening April 18th called Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, which deals with evolution v. intelligent design.  Time's film critic panned it last week.  Wikipedia has a fairly long article on intelligent design.  Most news articles actually fail to adequately define such terms.  I believe that God created the universe.  How he did it and how long it took, I have no idea.  I also believe in evolution and scientific theories such as natural selection, etc.  I still, however, think that God is behind all of it.  Does this make me a proponent of intelligent design?  Evidently not.  There doesn't seem to be a category for someone like me who believes in the science but as God as the master scientist.  [This doesn't even begin to get into a literal Biblical interpretation called for in creationism.] Faith is the belief in things unseen and things which can't be proven.  For me, the beauty of the world calls out for a creator.  I also can't wrap my mind around the fact that life on this planet could be so random and not planned.  The fact that we can't fathom the reasons or the plan is due to us being like amoebas to God's being like humans.  She's so far ahead of us, we can't comprehend things.  We just need to believe.  I just don't see the necessity in choosing between God and science.  Let's have both.
