I recently made a breakthrough in my own ancestry and found that I was descended from the Thomas Beard family of Dover, New Hampshire. His daughter Martha (not my ancestor) married first George Bramhall who was killed in an Indian raid in 1689. Martha (Beard) Bramhall, evidently sick of life in the then frontier of Dover, moved her entire family to Plymouth County where she married secondly, Rev. Gershom Hall at Higham, Mass. By his first marriage to Bethia Bangs, Gershom was the father of my ancestress Bethia (Hall) Winslow. So Martha (Beard) (Bramhall) Hall was born about 1653 in Dover, N.H. and died on 21 July 1733 at Harwich, Mass. That's quite the journey. So, Martha's brother is my maternal grandfather's ancestor and her second husband was my maternal grandmother's ancestor. So she's quite important in two of my lines, though not a direct ancestor.
