In the last 20 years, the Mayflower Society has become more stringent in its application process. Every single generation must be completely verified using primary sources--no more can one use a compiled genealogy as a source. That means if your Great-Aunt Bessie was in the Mayflower Society, you will need to redo your own application from scratch. And if Bessie used a compiled genealogy, you can't, and you'll need to find the sources yourself. This is a tough sell for people, but it happens.
