Tombstone Tuesday: John Thom(p)son 1740-1747

It is widely known that children often died before reaching adulthood in colonial America.  This seven-year old (an ancestral uncle of mine) got a fairly elaborate gravestone, possibly indicating that by 1747 his father was well-off.   Note that both of his parents are mentioned: Archibald and Elizabeth Thomson.

Joshua Cromwell, the son of Philip and Elizabeth (Leighton) Cromwell and grandson of Giles and Alice (Weeks) Cromwell, was born about 1672 and married about 1699 to a woman named Lydia.
