Another Scottish Covenanter to Bridgewater, Mass. This is from the Old Cemetery in East Bridgewater. Gain is an ancestral two-fer. I descend from two of his daughters: Martha (Robinson) Thompson and Betty (Robinson) Corbett. Gain also had a son named Increase. You really can't make this stuff up. One more picture below the fold:
Hi there,
I am hoping to head to this very tombstone tomorrow, as my husband and children are Gain Robinson descendents as well (and related to Corbetts and many other Nova Scotia Surnames from Brookfield area). I'm wondering if you could share where this cemetery is, or it's official name so I'm not wandering aimlessly... we are in Cape Cod for the week, heading to Plymouth tomorrow, and onward so were going to make the stop through East Bridgewater on the way home to Canada (we are heading to Ontario, but live in BC).
Cheers,
Sarah (Emerson) Nelson

It is the Old Cemetery in East Bridgewater, next to the Central Cemetery on Central Street in East Bridgewater. I am a Corbett descendant as well. Have a safe journey home.

Thanks Martin! The trip was a success. :) Let me know if you ever want to compare notes on Family Trees offline.

Martin,
I am a descendent of Gain Robinson. My grandmother’s grandfather was Calvin Robinson, b.1819. Calvin’s grandfather was Increase, b. 1756. Thank you for uncovering this tombstone information. With the unsubstantive information I am hesitant to believe what I read, but pictures of the family tombstones are the evidence that is reassuring. I live on the west coast of Canada, so I will probably never get to see these in person. Thanks for your work.
