Tombstone Tuesday: Mary (Russell) (Swan) Adams 1730-1808

I descend from her first marriage to William Swan who died in the French & Indian War.  I love this woman.  Imagine having five children (all girls) and having your husband go off to war and not return.  Then you get married again and have eight more children (that's 13 and no epidurals).  How many loaves of bread did she bake from scratch?  How much milk did she get from cows?  

In the case of the artwork of the gravestone itself, it is a beautiful piece of colonial art.
