Tombstone Tuesday: Cape Cod Gravestones
There are times when the Internet does come in handy. Do you have a Cape Cod ancestor? Well, to find their gravestone, here's a trick: Go to google and type in capecodgravestones+surname your searching. Not all the gravestones are pictured, but here's two of my earlier ancestors: That is Kenelm Winslow (Jr.) 1636-1715 and his first wife and my ancestress Mercy (Worden) Winslow 1641-1688.

Women Lawyers in the 19th Century
This is the 1880 U.S. Census entry from St. Louis, Missouri for Michael's great-great-grandmother Julia Berkley (Brown) (Clarkson) Young. Note her occupation: Lawyer. How many women had passed the bar in 1880 in the U.S.? It probably helped that her father and husband were also lawyers. Still. That's Michael's great-grandmother Vida age 7.
