In addition to the ancestors I have of royal descent, Michael has three such ancestors I have discovered thus far:
- Matthew Clarkson, 1664-1702, first colonial secretary of New York. This line is well developed and appears in the standard works on royal lines. Michael's great-grandmother was Vida Hamlin Clarkson.
- Thomas Jarnagin of Virginia. This is a fairly new line first published in Virginia Genealogist 50 (2006):73-4. The name is so specific, it seems probable that the John Jarnagin born ca. 1720 and who married Mary Bynum, is the immigrant's great-grandson. However, the records between two of the generations are spotty at present. However, my speculation is that John ca. 1720 is John4 (Thomas3 John2 Thomas1). He even names a son Thomas and from there, the line merges into the Morrow family.
- Anne (Skipwith) 1642-1723, wife of William Goforth of Burlington, New Jersey. This is a line I am developing myself. I will be writing about this more in the upcoming weeks. Her identity has been known for over 100 years, placing her in England, but because she hails from Yorkshire, people have not placed her in the armigerous family from Lincolnshire where she belongs. Through them, Anne is a descendant of Edward III.
