John Dudley 1758-1846

I wasn't kidding about the fact that it's always the siblings of your brick wall ancestor that has all the records.  Here's the family of John Dudley from the Newport, N.H. Town Records.  He also served in the American Revolution and lived long enough to request a pension.

Slovaks in the U.S. I remember being surprised when I began doing some of my Slovak ancestry reading, after the 1990 U.S. Census, the fact that Slovak was the second highest ethnicity for Slavic people in the U.S. Although the numbers are hard to pin down, about a half million Slovaks immigrated to the U.S. during the 1880-1920 time period. However, with the end of the Soviet Union, Slovaks are now falling behind other more recent Slavic ethnicities, like Ukrainians. It will be interesting to see how the 2010 census plays out. Daniel Dudley 1754-1803 of Newport, N.H. Yes, John Dudley's family has his family in the Newport Town Records, but so does his brother Daniel. In fact, the one brother that doesn't is Josiah Dudley, my ancestor!
