The death record for Stephen Ussak 1761-1801 from Myjava. The cause of death was "ex hectica" which is a gradually worsening fever, mostly associated with tuberculosis. [

I recently saw the movie 2012. It drives me crazy when people make false assumptions--some of which are now mainstream. The Mayans did not predict the end of the world. Their calendar runs out on December 21, 2012. That's all. Just like my current calendar runs out on December 31, 2010. I'm pretty sure that Staples hasn't predicted the end of the world for January 1, 2011. John Whitney 1592-1673 of Watertown, Mass. and his Royal Line
I received a nice email from the author of one of the recent studies of John Whitney, on which I had traced a provisional royal line. He notified me that his and co-author's thinking has changed via evidence found that Thomas Whitney, the father of John was not the son of the Robert Whitney to whom I had attributed him. So, I've removed that posting. Oh well. Sounded good to me. The author assures me that research is ongoing and I'm sure at some point the Whitneys of Westminster go back to the Whitneys of Castleton and to the Whitneys...
