I received a nice email from the author of one of the recent studies of John Whitney, on which I had traced a provisional royal line. He notified me that his and co-author's thinking has changed via evidence found that Thomas Whitney, the father of John was not the son of the Robert Whitney to whom I had attributed him. So, I've removed that posting. Oh well. Sounded good to me. The author assures me that research is ongoing and I'm sure at some point the Whitneys of Westminster go back to the Whitneys of Castleton and to the Whitneys of Whitney. How is the question and with what wives (and their ancestries) is another question. Until then, unhook father and son on your databases.
