Vrbovce Slovakia Church Records
Are finally available on microfilm from the Family History Library! That means all four of my Slovak ancestral villages are now accessible to me. I'm going to make a point of ordering all six reels this time at once. When I have the time!

Massachusetts Death Records: State v. Town Level Information
Information on a state level death record in Massachusetts 1841-1910 (this example is from 1861) includes: Name, Date of Death, Place of Death, Race, Marital Status, Occupation, Age, Birthplace, Cause of Death Father and his birthplace, Mother and her birthplace. Example: The town level information includes the above, plus place of internment and informant. So, it can be worth it to "shop" in both places. The above certificate still only costs $3.00 from the Massachusetts State Archives--truly still a genealogical bargain.

John Hidden of Kittery, Maine
In addition to my study of Josiah Berry of Kittery, I did a short study of his father-in-law, John Hidden. This man leaves even less records that Josiah! John3 HIDDEN was born at Rowley, Mass. about 1688, son of John2 (Andrew1) and Elizabeth (Jewett) Hidden. It is likely that John married at Portsmouth, N.H. at the North Church on 4 July 1711 to (---) CROCKETT. [New Hampshire Genealogical Record 5(1908):41] It should be noted that the transcription says Joseph Hidden, however, since John Hidden is immediately thereafter having children baptized in Kittery, this must be an error.
