This sounds like a Randy Seaver Saturday Night Special, but Michael has ancestors that fill out a full house (so to speak) of officers in the American Revolution:
Major General George Doherty (Jr.) 1749-1833 of North Carolina, present at the Battle of King's Mountain [Pension Application #S1807] ;
Colonel Elias Conover 1756-1820 of New Jersey;
Major George Doherty (Sr.), father of the above;
Captain John Clark 1736-1809 of Pennsylvania, his patrilineal ancestor; and
Lt. John Ridpath 1737-1777 who died at the Battle of Germantown, Michael's mother's patrilineal ancestor.
Then, there's also one doctor and one reverend, not to mention, James Schureman who served in the Continental Congress [albeit in the post-revolutionary Congress, the one with the Articles of Confederation]. He then became a member of the first Congress under the U.S. Constitution.
