This is a line I've devised on my own. I can always tell that I'm in entirely new territory when I google the names and only my site shows up. This is such a case.
1. Samuel Lawrence born 1696 at Gortigran, Dunboe, Ireland and died September 1769 at Coleraine, Derry, Ireland. He married about 1722, Ann Hezlett born 1698 at Belleney, Dunboe, Ireland and died June 1770 at Coleraine. She was the aunt of the Rev. Robert Hezlett and sister of Samuel Hezlett of Belleney. Samuel is the possible son of Alexander Lawrence and grandson of Samuel Lawrence who came from England with William III and settled in northern Ireland. Samuel and Ann had seven children Alexander, Esther, Mary, Charles, James, Robert, and Ann.
2. Charles Lawrence born about 1730 and died December 1782. He married about 1755, Martha Wilson born say 1735. Together Charles and Martha had eight children: Samuel, Ann, Margaret, Martha, John, James, Alexander, and Charles.
3. John Lawrence born about 1764 and died 1856 Ballycraig, Ireland. His wife's name is not known. He had at least three children: Martha, Jane, and Charles.
4. Martha Lawrence born 1789 in Ireland and died 2 June 1877 at Hopewell, New Brunswick, Canada. She married before 1818 in Ireland, Finley Sinclair, born 1785 at Ballymagarry, Antrim, Ireland and died 3 December 1859 at Hopewell, New Brunswick, son of Daniel and Mary (---) Sinclair. Finley and Martha had five children: Catherine, Daniel, Mary Ann, Samuel, and Ellen Jane. Tombstone inscription “In Memory of Martha Wife of Finley Sinclair died June 2, 1877 aged 88 years.”

Hi Martin, Are we related? Jane Lawrence, daughter of John Lawrence mentioned in #3 above, is my 3rd great-grandmother. Jane Lawrence married Daniel Sinclair and remained in Ireland. Regards, Jane

We are doubly related. I descend from Martha Lawrence and Finlay Sinclair. This is a case where two brothers married two sisters. Are you still in Ireland? I haven't visited yet, but plan to. I'm in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Thanks for writing.

Martin, I live in the US. Daniel Sinclair and Jane Lawrence had a daughter Martha born 1822 in Ireland. She married David Anderson McMaster. Their daughter, Jane McMaster, came to the US (New Jersey) and married Samuel H. Craig. Samuel and Jane are my great-grandparents on my father's side. I would love to know where you plan to visit in Ireland. As you know it is difficult to obtain Irish records here in the US. I found there are some Lawrence family records for Ballycraig at PRONI that I would love to see. They include deeds and other papers. John Lawrence, Jane's father, lived in Ballycraig.
