Descent from a Colonial Governor I don't have that many politicians in my family tree. A few state legislators. No federal office holders. Many local townsmen. And I note that there are three governors I descend from. Two weren't really governors but had that honorific: Tristram Coffin, Governor of Nantucket and Thomas Roberts, Governor of Dover, N.H. And I descend multiple times from each of them. But there is one colonial royal governor I do descend from: Samuel Allen 1642-1705, Governor of New Hampshire 1692-1699 m. SAR: Thomas Pinkham My supplemental line for Thomas Pinkham was accepted and approved by the Sons of the American Revolution. So counting my original application, this is two patriots for me. And it is father and son. And no one has gone into the SAR or DAR on either of these men. I am the first person in 250 years to remember and venerate their service to our country. I'm helping my mother join the DAR on the same line so that both the DAR and SAR have these lineages in their records. My nephews and (soon) nieces will be able to join...
