Another great-great-great-grandfather I can't kill off is Jan Holic. Most of my Slovak great-great-great-grandparents were born in the 19th century. However, in my direct patrilineal line, I have two successive 45 year generations, so Jan is born in 1786. I have tried looking for his death record and found two possibilities neither of which are a slam dunk.
One Jan Holic died aged 69, 1 May 1851 (no parents, spouse), p. 115
One Jan Holic died aged 72, 1 Aug 1853 (no parents, spouse), p. 129
Both Umrtia (Deaths) 1849-1863, FHL #2431382
The 1851 record is a birth of 1782. The 1853 record is a birth year of 1781. That's 4 to 5 years off. As noted there is no spouse or parents in the records to distinguish one Jan Holic from another.
I just perused the pre 1849 death records for Simek and did note a Jan Holits but it didn't match either.
Just another head scratcher.
